We will support the government and the 12th Malaysia Plan as it is my firm belief that this recovery cannot be delivered by the government alone and that all corporates have a pivotal role to play. For Global Turbine Asia, “doing our part” comes in the form of finding ways to get people who lost their jobs and fresh grads, back on their feet and provide opportunities. Working, earning, and spending, perpetuating the cycle of national economic recovery. At a group level we have created a recruitment philosophy of re-skilling, re-training, re-employing, and tapping into Malaysia’s amazingly robust talent pool and diverse human capital. From a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) industry perspective, we are projecting a significant uptick in the demand for our services as air travel begins to normalise. In preparation for this and to be ready to meet the demand, we are in a position to recruit from other fields, engineers, electronics experts, component development / production specialists and even management, re-skilling, and re-training to create an industry benchmarking MRO specialist workforce. Investing in the talent available through job creation and opportunity creation will be one of the many key factors that are going to be paramount in our nation’s future and I reiterate that it’s a future that corporates must be proactive in human capital redeployment if we are to realise our full potential.
