1MDB respects Tan Sri Abdul Samad Alias's decision to resign
The statement did not include any reason for his resignation.
1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) in a statement wished its former advisor Tan Sri Abdul Samad Alias all the best following his resignation from the company's board of directors.
"1MDB notes media reports today on the resignation of Tan Sri Abdul Samad Alias from the 1MDB Board of Advisors," the statement read.
"Whilst we very much regret his departure, we fully respect his decision and wish Tan Sri Samad all the best in his future endeavours," 1MDB said.
The statement did not include any reason for his resignation.
Abdul Samad had joined 1MDB board of advisors in January this year.
Abdul Samad has been the Chairman of Perbadanan Insurans Deposit Malaysia (PIDM) since 15 August 2011. He is also a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.
Among others. he had held roles as chairman of Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad, Non-Executive Chairman of Messrs. Ernst & Young, President of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants and President of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.
He is a graduate of the University of Western Australia.
