1MDB warns of impostors posing as 'business officials'

1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) today warned the public over some individuals posing as its officials offering business loans and collecting fees.

In a statement today, the state investment fund denied offering any business loans or authorising any party to collect payment on their behalf.

"1MDB has been informed that certain individuals are posing as 1MDB officials to offer business loans and collect processing fees.

"1MDB wishes to advise the public that the company has never offered business loans nor has 1MDB ever authorised any party to collect payment or charge fees for processing any applications relating to 1MDB," said the statement.

The company has lodged a police report and requested anyone who has been approached in relation to the matter to immediately do the same.
