AEON Mall Kota Bharu valued at RM300 million will start its business operations at the end of next month.

AEON Co. (M) Bhd Chairman, Datuk Abdullah Mohd Yusoff, said the shopping mall, the group's first shopping complex in the east coast of the peninsula, offered 178 retail lots including a supermarket, international and local fashion brands, a sports centre and furniture shops.

"The shopping centre also offers business premises to small and medium enterprises in the state," he told reporters after a Tree Planting programme with the local community at the areas surrounding the shopping mall here, today.

The programme was officiated by the Kelantan Local Government, Housing and Youth and Sports Committee Chairman, Datuk Abdul Fattah Mahmood. Also present was AEON managing director Nur Qamarina Chew Abdullah.

Abdullah said the shopping centre also provided 2,400 parking bays and offered more than 1,000 job opportunities to local residents.

Meanwhile, Abdul Fattah said the state government would encourage parties that intended to open business premises including shopping centres in the state to plant trees to safeguard the environment. --
