Malindo Air today offered special fare to Rayani Air passengers who were affected due to the suspension of its operations.

The passengers with Rayani Air tickets, will be able to rebook their cancelled flights at Malindo Air’s ticketing counter nationwide.

The passengers need to present their email or proof of travel booking on Rayani Air to enjoy the discounted fare, Malindo Air said in a statement today.

“These fares are available for purchase from today until April 30, 2016, for immediate travel and until October 31, 2016," the statement read.

“Malindo Air has also helped Rayani Air on numerous occasion when they have encountered delays and cancellations. We hope this will ease the problems of passengers who are in urgent need to travel without any disruptions,” the statement said.

Yesterday, Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB) and Air Asia had offered special discounted air fare to Rayani Air passengers.

MAB said affected passengers can re-book their travel arrangements and a discount will be offered for their journey.

The airline offered discounts from Apr 11 until April 30 for travels until July 31, 2016.

AirAsia meanwhile, offered a 50 percent discount for Rayani Air passengers whose tickets were cancelled.

The discount can be used for travels to or from Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi, Kota Bharu, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu between Apr 11 and April 27, 2016.

Last Friday, the country’s first syariah-compliant airline announced that it is suspending its operations until further notice, following a strike by its pilots.

The Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) yesterday suspended Rayani Air for three months over the matter, adding that an inquiry would be held on May 12.

Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said no airline is allowed to suspend its operations without referring to the authorities.

Rayani Air chief executive officer Ravi Alagendrran promised that the airline will be back with improved and quality services.

“At Rayani Air, we wish to express our gratitude to the rakyat for flying with us. Thank you too to all Rayani Air employees who had been with us through ups and downs. Rayani Air will be back. Wait!!!," he wrote on his Facebook page.
