AirAsia India's maiden flight sold out in 10 minutes

AirAsia India entered the Indian market with a big bang when tickets for its maiden flight from Bangalore to Goa on June 12 was sold out within 10 minutes of opening for sale.
Its 25,000 promotion seats were also taken up within 48 hours of opening for booking on May 30.
"We are very excited by the feedback we received from the market. Our motto has always been to make everyone fly and we have already begun to show that we are true to our promise," said Chief Executive Officer Mittu Chandilya in a statement.
He reiterated the airlines' aim to revolutionize the Indian aviation industry with its quality service.
"On behalf of AirAsia India I would like to thank every stakeholder who has worked towards making our launch a success," he said.
All inclusive fares from as low as Rs990 (RM54) are available for booking on flights from Bangalore to Chennai, Chennai to Bangalore, Bangalore to Goa and Goa to Bangalore.
Guests can book AirAsia India Flights on www.airasia.com from now until June 9,2014, for the travel period from June 12-Oct 25, 2014.
AirAsia India operates the A320 aircraft.
The airline, a joint venture between AirAsia, Tata Sons and Arun Bhatia's Telestra Tradeplace, was granted flying licence by aviation regulator, Directorate General of Civil Aviation, early last month.
