AirAsia has signed up with V Creations, the producers of Kabali, an upcoming action movie from India featuring "superstar" Rajinikanth, as the official airline.
Commenting on the partnership, AirAsia India's Chief Executive Officer Amar Abrol said the airline was thrilled to be the official airline for the movie.
"We are overwhelmed with joy to be a part of the movie and enable as many passengers to celebrate the Kabali fever.
"To work with Rajinikanth and the owner of V Creations, Kalaipuli S Thanu, is a delight for everyone at AirAsia," he added.
Meanwhile, Kalaipuli thanked AirAsia for agreeing to be the official airline partner for Kabali, which will be released on July 1.
"The airline is also planning many engagement activities for Rajinikanth fans traveling on AirAsia flights.
"The Kabali excitement is just not on the ground, but also in the air, when you fly with AirAsia," he said.
AirAsia Bhd has carried over four million passengers to and from India and currently serves the cities of Bangaluru, Visakhapatnam, Kolkata, Kochi, Hyderabad, Chennai and Tiruchirappalli, while AirAsia X flies to and from New Delhi.
