AirAsia X launches maiden KL-Auckland flight

AirAsia X Bhd (AAX) is offering a promotional one-way all-in fare from as low as RM699 for its new daily Kuala Lumpur-Auckland route.

In a statement today, the long-haul budget airline said bookings can be made online at AirAsia's website from today until April 3, for travel between March 25 to May 22, 2017.

AAX CEO Benyamin Ismail said the company looked forward to connect more people from across Asia and Australia to Auckland, New Zealand, through the vast route network in the AirAsia Group.

"The inaugural flight to Auckland today, which transits at Gold Coast, Australia, saw a 95 percent load factor on its D7 206 flight.

"We are confident that we will continue to see strong loads moving forward," he said.

Meanwhile, Auckland Airport Chief Executive Adrian Littlewood said the new daily service was a fantastic addition to their international network.

"The flight service supports the growing tourist demand from Malaysia and Southeast Asia and also provides New Zealanders with another Trans-Tasman route," said Littlewood.
