Barring any unforeseen circumstances, including terrorist attacks, natural disasters, economic downturn and fluctuation in foreign currencies against the ringgit, AirAsia X expects its prospects to remain positive.
AirAsia X Bhd posts a higher revenue at RM1.18 billion in the first quarter ended March 31, 2017 from RM970.67 million in the same quarter last year.
Its pre-tax profit, however, was lower at RM31.91 million compared with RM218.52 million in the previous corresponding period, it said in a filing to Bursa Malaysia today.
The group said the higher revenue was due to a 33 per cent increase in passenger numbers on the back of a 28 per cent increase in seat capacity.
"Barring any unforeseen circumstances, including terrorist attacks, natural disasters, economic downturn and fluctuation in foreign currencies against the ringgit, AirAsia X expects its prospects to remain positive," it said.
