Astro bags double awards for Best Corporate Practices

Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd was bestowed the Excellence Award for Corporate Governance Disclosure by the Minority Shareholders Watchdog Group (MSWG) at the MSWG-ASEAN Corporate Governance Recognition Awards 2017 today.

It also received the 'Best Investor Event’ Award at the IR Magazine Awards and Conference South East Asia 2017, while also coming up as the second runner-up in the 'Best Annual Report' and 'Best ESG Communications' categories.

The MSWG-ASEAN Corporate Governance Recognition Awards recognises best corporate governance practices, quality and transparency among public listed companies in Malaysia.

While the 'Best Investor Event' award is in recognition of Astro's Analyst and Investor Day, held for the first time last July.

The Analyst and Investor Day was held to communicate the Group's value creation strategy in a landscape of increasing digitalisation, through presentations from Astro's senior management.

Astro Group Financial Officer, Shafiq Abdul Jabbar, said the awards were in line with the Group's consistent efforts to uphold best practices within the industry.

"Astro has been making consistent effort to improve our corporate governance disclosures. We are honoured that MSWG has recognised our commitment towards improving our corporate governance practices," he said.
