Astro Malaysia Holdings Berhad (Astro) has once again won exclusive rights to air English Premiere League (EPL) matches in Malaysia.
The exclusive rights spans the next three years, beginning from the 2016/2017 season to the 2018/2019 season.
Astro's Chief Operating Officer, Henry Tan said football fans will be experiencing an exciting front row view to watch their favourite team in action.
"This is because all 380 EPL matches in each season will be aired live through Astro in high-definition (HD) and also through the application, Astro On The Go (AOTG)," Henry said in a media statement on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Premiere League's Executive Chairman, Richard Scudamore said he is glad that Astro has chosen to invest in owning the exclusive rights to EPL in Malaysia.
Scudamore said his team believes that Astro's high production quality is the main factor contributing to the increasing popularity of EPL in Malaysia.
He also hopes that Premiere League's co-operation with Astro will continue.
Other than EPL, Astro will also be airing UEFA EURO 2016, Olympics in Rio, Thomas Cup and Uber Cup 2016 through Astro and AOTG.
