Astro Radio a hit in Sabah and Sarawak

Astro Radio continues to dominate the airwaves in East Malaysia. It has retained its No. 1 radio station position for all categories— Malay, English and Chinese—in both Kuching and Kota Kinabablu.
Astro Radio General Manager (Sabah and Sarawak), Mesh Nair said that as many as 98.6% of the population of 794,500 people in these two cities listen to Astro’s stations.
In addition, the results of a survey conducted by Nielsen Radio Audience Measurement in Sabah and Sarawak in June 2013, Astro Radio successfully registered an increase of 7% in Kuching and Kota Kinabalu as of last year.
Kuching registered listeners’ percentage of 45.2% and 48.8% in Kota Kinabalu, which makes Era.fm radio station, Hitz.fm and my.fm the stations of choice in both cities.
The results also showed that English-language radio station, Hitz.fm, is way ahead of other channels by attracting 258,700 listeners, Era.fm with 241,000 listeners while my.fm recorded a total of 137,000 listeners.
Mesh said that Astro will continue to strive to be the preferred choice of listeners by providing the latest and best content.
Moving forward, Astro Radio will continue to invest in more infrastructure in order to expand their publication in Sabah and Sarawak. Since April 2013 ago, era.fm, hitz.fm and my.fm have extended the frequency and can be heard in Sandakan in Sabah and Sarawak Miri incorporate local content to listeners in the second two parts of the future.
