Astro records 10 percent increase in revenue

Astro Malaysia Holdings Berhad (Astro) recoded an increase in revenue by 10 percent for the nine months of the financial year ending January 31,2015.
The revenue recorded by Astro for the term hit RM3.9 billion while the Profit After Tax (PAT) rose 12 percent to RM376 million.
Part of Astro’s year-on-year revenue was contributed by its pay-TV customers which saw a two percent or RM3.48 million increase.
The increase in number of NJOI customers by 113 percent to 813,000 also contributed to the revenue.
According to Astro Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Rohana Rozhan, Astro now covers 62 percent of Malaysian households with a total customer base of 4.3 million.
She said this is based on the demands it received for the High Definition service with a total customer base of over 1.9 million.
Meanwhile, the Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) for the term increased three percent to RM98.5 ringgit.
Meanwhile the revenue through advertising increased four percent to RM440 million.
Astro also announced a third interim dividend of 2.25 sen pershare.
