ASTRO's Rohana wins CNBC CSR Award

ASTRO CEO, Datuk Rohana Rozhan won the 12th CNBC Asia Business Leader Award in the Corporate Social Responsibility category, tonight, in Bangkok, Thailand.
She received the award for providing visionary leadership and constantly encouraging her team members to make a difference to the community in various corporate social responsibility initiatives.
The jury selected Rohana based on her ability to translate a company’s success into benefits for the community while making societal impact a corporate priority.
The award also recognized ASTRO’s outstanding contributions to the arts, education, environment and community development.
The panel of jury comprised of independent world-respected management strategists, academics, corporate personalities and CNBC executives, conducted a unique three-phase judging process, which include quantitative company data analysis to select the top performers from across Asia, followed by face-to-face interviews to assess candidates' leadership qualities and the final selection of winners for the award.
Candidates were evaluated based on a combination of criteria including the companies' financial performance, creativity, innovation, social responsibility and the ability to create short-term advantage, long-term value and a competitive edge
At the same award ceremony, another Malaysian corporate figure, AirAsia Group Chief Executive Officer, Tan Sri Tony Fernandes won CNBC’s Asia Innovator of the Year Award.
