Astro's NJOI to see positive viewer growth this year

Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd's subscription-free satellite TV service, NJOI, is expected to see positive viewer growth this year. This follows the launch of additional channels.

Astro launched NJOI last year, giving viewers access to 19 TV and 20 radio channels with a one-time payment. Vice-President of Business Segment NJOI, Shaiful Subhan said the service, had attracted 209,000 customers since the commercial launch.

"Our customers are still growing, and we believe with additional channels, the subscriber base will grow," he told a media briefing here today.

However, he declined to disclose any figures until an announcement on Astro's first quarter result.
