Bank Islam lodges second police report

Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad today lodged a second police report against its suspended chief economist, Azrul Azwar Ahmad Tajudin, for obtaining and leaking the bank's confidential documents.

In a statement, it said the first police report was lodged at the Dang Wangi police station last Friday.

"In the course of our investigation into breaches, the bank discovered evidence of other violations which warranted us to make a police report last Friday.

"The suspension is due to Azrul's violation of the bank internal policies, the details of which have been conveyed to Azrul in the show cause letter, handed to him on Jan 17, and upon further investigation, the bank lodged a second police report today," it added.
