The international reserves of Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) stood at RM382.1 billion (equivalent to USD97.2 billion) as at April 15 this year.
The reserves position is sufficient to finance 8.1 months of retained imports and is 1.1 times the short-term external debt.
USD89.2 billion from that amount is from its foreign currency reserves.
It is followed by IMF's reserves, Special Drawing Rights (SDR), gold and other reserve assets.
