Batik producer Desa Murni Sdn Bhd will launch new batik and tudung products on Jan 26 at its factory site in Kampung Pulau Rusa here.
Managing Director Suhaimi Embong, who took over the family business in 1978 after finishing school, told Bernama today the products will be launched by brand ambassador Erra Fazira.
Desa Murni has four branches in Terengganu and one each in Kota Baharu, Kuala Lumpur and Perak, with another one planned for Kemaman this year, for which it targets sales of RM13 million to RM15 million, he said.
The factory opened in 1974, and its 100 workers produce 200 pieces of digital batik which sell for RM130 to RM350 each.
This year the company is sponsoring the Terengganu, T-Team and Kelantan football teams.
