Early exit for Maxis CEO
Maxis Bhd chief executive officer Sandip Das will relinquish his post about two-and-a-half months ahead of schedule.
Sandip, whose tenure as CEO ends on June 30, 2013, requested for an early release from the office.
""The board (of director) has agreed to Sandip's request, and accordingly, he will relinquish his position as CEO and director with effect from April 15 2013," said the company in a statement yesterday.
Johan Dennelind, former DiGi.Com Bhd chief executive officer, will takeover as Maxis' new CEO effective July 2013.
"Pending Johan Dennelind's commencement of office on 1 July 2013 as Maxis' new CEO, a committee comprising Chief Financial Officer Nasution Mohamed; the Joint Chief Operating Officers, Suren J Amarasekera and Mark Dioguardi, will act collectively under the guidance and direction of, and reporting to, the chairman Raja Tan Sri Arshad Raja Tun Uda.
"This is to ensure effective decision making and continuity of operations in the intervening period," said the company.
The statement did not say if Sandip will remain as the group chief executive officer of Maxis Communications Bhd.
Late last year, it was reported that Sandip will remain as the group chief executive officer of Maxis Communications and to spend more time on the company's Indian operations -- Aircel.
