Emirates Airlines: Soaring high in service and sustainability

Emirates' country manager for Malaysia, Saeed Mubarak, said the Dubai-based airline has come up with various initiatives to promote sustainability and integrate it into different areas of the business.

"We have a modern and fuel-efficient fleet and have been actively researching and supporting the development and use of sustainable aviation biofuels.

"We also joined the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) in April this year, which is in line with our group's ongoing environmental initiatives which focus on three areas: reducing emissions, consuming responsibly and preserving wildlife and habitats", he added.

Emirates is also reducing its environmental impact by improving operational efficiency.

This includes optimising flight routes to reduce fuel burn and constantly looking for ways to reduce consumption, reuse items and recycle materials.

Emirates is not only charting a course for a more sustainable and environmentally conscious future for the aviation industry, it is also setting records for passenger numbers and financial performance.

Saaed said that Emirates had experienced one of its busiest periods from June to August, carrying more than 14 million passengers with an average load factor of more than 80 per cent across its global network.

He said Emirates had added extra flights to meet increased demand in 12 cities, including Kuala Lumpur, Athens, Brisbane and Bangkok.

"To support travel demand in Malaysia, we are currently offering special promotional fares from Kuala Lumpur to Dubai, Zurich, Paris and Istanbul, among others, until 18 September for travel between 1 September 2023 and 31 May 2024.

"We will continue to expand our operations across the globe to meet growing customer demand and cater to the surge in travel. We are very confident that customer demand will remain strong across all our businesses," said Saeed.
