Huawei opens CISC to facilitate Malaysia's push to become digital nation

Global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider Huawei on Monday launched its Customer Solution, Innovation and Integration Experience Centre (CSIC) here as its commitment to Malaysia's transformation into a Smart Digital Nation.
Launched by Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak, the centre is a global network of dedicated and innovative experience labs that allow interested parties to experience, architect, validate and build ICT solutions and applications.
The showcase at the CSIC aggregates over 120 global reference applications and services from Huawei's clients and research and development (R&D) labs.
Salleh in his speech said the centre would enable Malaysian telecoms operators to test new business models, and foster applications and services in a real network environment.
Applauding Huawei's recognition of the determination of Malaysians to build a better connected nation, Salleh said: "I hope the centre will open up the doors to more collaboration that will help more Malaysians to enjoy the convenience that brought by Smart Digital Malaysia."
In conjunction with the CSIC opening, Huawei also launched a white paper titled "Accelerating A Smart Digital Building a Better Connected World" which explores the ICT strategies towards a Smart Digital Nation.
It is a combination of top-down and bottom-up methodologies recommended for the smart framework implementation approach and also outlines the ICT infrastructure needed to enable the adoption of smart applications.
Salleh welcomed Huawei's launch of the white paper, saying it would encourage more discussion on smart city initiatives.
"As a global ICT leader, Huawei has the technological know-how and experience in smart country development.
"I hope more companies could follow Huawei's footsteps to jointly build our country to be a smart nation," he said.
Meanwhile, Huawei Malaysia Chief Executive Officer Abraham Liu said Huawei is always looking for new opportunities to serve as the engine for Malaysia's Smart Digital Nation efforts.
"As Malaysia strives toward Vision 2020, it is a tranformative time for the nation, and Huawei remains Malaysia's committed partner in this journey," he said.
Liu said Malaysia had been making tremendous progress in ICT development under the Vision 2020 guideliness.
"We are pleased to see that the Malaysian government has set the vision of smart digital nation by launching the Internet of Things (IoT) Roadmap and the Smart Community Initiatives.
"CSIC as an integrated ICT experience platform will boost the speed in the way we govern, conduct business, live, work and play," he said.
