Inflation to ease given the decline in global oil prices, says Johari
JOHARI: I think that (lower price) will ease the inflation rate.
Malaysia's inflation, which recorded the fastest growth in eight years in February, is expected to ease given the decline in global oil prices, said Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani.
"If we look at current oil prices, it have come down.
"I think that (lower price) will ease the inflation rate," he told reporters after opening the Global Offset and Countertrade Association (GOCA) Asia Pacific Conference 2017 here today.
Consumer Price Index (CPI), a measure of inflation, rose by 4.5 per cent to 119.7 in February compared with 114.5 recorded in the same month last year.
