Islamic commercial banking institutions open as usual on July 8

All Islamic commercial banking institutions nationwide will operate as usual on July 8, 2016 except in states where the weekend falls on Friday and Saturday.

Customers of Islamic commercial banking institutions may conduct banking transactions on that day at any branch during working hours, said the Association of Islamic Banking Institutions Malaysia (AIBIM) in a statement today.

This follows Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa's announcement yesterday that Friday July 8, 2016 will be a special holiday for Federal civil servants if Hari Raya Aidilfitri falls on July 6.
