"I've tried my best" - Peter Bellew

Astro AWANI has reached out to Peter Bellew to seek comments following reports that he will rejoin Ryanair.

In a short reply to Astro AWANI, Bellew has politely declined to be interviewed.

In his response via WhatsApp messaging application tonight, the 52-year-old was quoted as saying that "he has tried his best. And he worked as hard as he could.

No affirmative as to what Bellew was referring to in his reply to Astro AWANI.

Bellew also expressed his gratitude to Astro AWANI the support that has been given and continues to give to Malaysia Airlines.

Earlier today, it was reported that Bellew would leave the national carrier after just slightly two years. Bellew joined Malaysia Airlines as Chief Operations Officer (COO) in September, 2015 and took over as its chief executive officer (CEO) in July, last year.

Ryanair, in a statement on Tuesday, said Bellew would return as COO on Dec 1.
