Minister of Finance II Datuk Johari Abdul Ghani have been appointed to Khazanah Board of Directors, effective Sept 15, 2016.
Khazanah, in a statement, said the appointment was made at the 80th meeting of Khazanah’s Board of Directors on Thursday.
A qualified chartered accountant, Johari replaced former Minister of Finance II Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Mohamad Hanadzlah who served on the board from May 18, 2009 until Sept 15, 2016.
Previously the Deputy Minister of Finance, he assumed his current position as Minister of Finance II on June 27, 2016.
Johari started his career at international accounting firm, Peat Marwick & Co. (now known as KPMG), as an auditor and went on to hold the post of Managing Director in several public-listed companies involved in the food and beverage, agriculture and manufacturing industries.
He is currently Chairman of Yayasan Bena Nusa, established to help reduce urban poverty and improve education for urban poor children and Chairman of the National Coordinating Committee on Food and Nutrition. -- BERNAMA
