Ketengah Holding Sdn Bhd group of companies made impressive performance last year, recording a pre-tax profit of RM76.9 million.

General Manager Wan Mat Amin Wan Endut said after accounting for tax, Ketengah Holding was expected to achieve profit of RM59.9 million.

"God willing, we will pay out zakat of RM1.1 million out of the total profit of made our subsidiaries this year," he told reporters after a breaking of fast dinner here last night.

He said the profit was contributed by its plantation and manufacturing companies.

The subsidiaries under Ketengah Holding are Ketengah Perwira, Yit-Ketengah Perwira, Ketengah Jaya, Kebunika, Ladang Ternak Tani and Rakyat Ketengah Perwira.

He said Ketengah Jaya, which is involved in oil palm plantations, registered the highest profit at RM16 million, followed by Ketengah Perwira at RM13 million and Ketengah Holding RM7 million.

Meanwhile, he said Ketengah Holding group would diversify its investment activities and not only depend on plantations and manufacturing to strengthen its income streams.

According to Wan Mat Amin, the company planned to venture into new sectors including tourism particularly in Tasik Kenyir and property investment, which is expected to give lucrative returns to the company.

At the same time, Ketengah Holding group also contributes to the social needs of the community in the Ketengah region such as contribution to the Ketengah Community Trust Fund.

The fund was established especially to assist the underprivileged and disabled groups.
