Malaysia Airlines is increasing its frequency from Kuala Lumpur into Melbourne to three times daily services from November 21.
MAS flight MH147 will depart Kuala Lumpur at 7.50 pm daily and will arrive in Melbourne at 6.45 am the following day.
MH146 from Melbourne to Kuala Lumpur will depart at 8.55 am and will arrive in Kuala Lumpur at 2.15 pm the same day.
In a statement, Malaysia Airlines' Regional Senior Vice-President of Australia, New Zealand & South West Pacific, Lee Poh Kait said the flights to Melbourne three times daily will increase seating capacity from 7,896 a week to 11,844 a week.
"This is a 50 per cent increase in the overall availability of seats. Melbourne is one of Malaysia Airlines' key markets, now flying 21 times weekly and is in line with the airlines' continued efforts to strengthen its position as a top airline within this region," he added.
The additional daily flight will be serviced by the A330-300 and will also act as a connection with flights between Kuala Lumpur and other main cities around the world.
