Malindo Air expands route to Hanoi

The expansion is in line with the airline's international network plan, bringing its route network to 40 destinations in 13 countries.

Malindo Air flight OD571 will depart daily from KLIA at 9.15 am and arrive at Noi Bai International Airport at 11.25 am local time. The return flight will depart Hanoi at 12.15 pm and arrive at KLIA at 4.35 pm.

Chief Executive Officer Chandran Rama Muthy said Malindo Air's foray into Vietnam would certainly contribute towards achieving Malaysia’s target of having 36 million international visitors by 2020.

"In 2014, there were about 286,000 Vietnamese tourist arrivals to Malaysia for business, holidays or visiting friends and relatives. Last year, the arrival growth was registered at 6.7 per cent," he said in a statement today.

He said the airline would work closely with Tourism Malaysia and Vietnamese travel agents to design promotional and shopping packages.

"Our plan is in tandem with Tourism Malaysia's strategy of boosting arrivals from Vietnam through health tourism, MICE tourism and increased frequencies," he added.

Promotional fares for the new route Kuala Lumpur-Hanoi starts from RM209 for Economy Class and RM1109 for Business Class one-way, all inclusive.
