Malindo Air keen to add new destinations from Malacca
At present, Malindo Air flies from LTAM in Batu Berendam to three destinations, namely Kota Baharu, Penang, and Pekanbaru in Sumatra.
Malaysia's first hybrid airline Malindo Air is keen to add new destinations from its hub at the Malacca International Airport (LTAM), Malacca Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron said.
He said the airline plans to fly to two more cities in Peninsular Malaysia and to Batam and Medan in Sumatra, Indonesia.
"The Malacca government's discussions with Malindo Air on the new flights are very encouraging.
"I also feel that Singapore is another potential destination as we have been receiving many tourists from there.
"With the availability of flights, more tourists from Singapore could come to Melaka, instead of travelling overland, thus avoiding traffic jams and saving time," he said after chairing the Malacca State Executive Council meeting, Wednesday.
At present, Malindo Air flies from LTAM in Batu Berendam to three destinations, namely Kota Baharu, Penang, and Pekanbaru in Sumatra.
Idris said since commencing operations at LTAM in November last year, Malindo Air had recorded between 70 and 100 percent passenger capacity, with the full capacity achieved during holidays.
