MAS starts flying to Krabi
Malaysia Airlines (MAS) launched its first flight to Krabi, Thailand, departing from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), here, at 2.55pm, Monday. Its regional senior vice-president Malaysia, Datuk Muzammil Mohamad said Krabi was another holiday destination in Thailand that Malaysians loved. "It is more family-friendly and it's easier to get 'halal' food there," he told reporters after the simple send-off at KLIA. He said the four times weekly flights to Krabi would be operating via MH770 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. MAS was targeting to increase its flight frequency to Krabi in March, he added. The KLIA-Krabi route will be operating on the 160-seater, two class configurated B737-800. In conjunction with the introduction of the new destination, Golden Holidays, MAS' full-fledged tour operator, is offering free-and-easy short gateway package for three days and two nights from RM950 per person on a twin-sharing basis. Among the sightseeing tours is a full-day Phang Nga Bay and James Bond Island tour, relaxing canoeing at Ao Thalen and a night market walkabout with dinner excursion. Meanwhile, Muzammil said MAS would increase its frequency to both domestic and international destinations such as Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Penang, Langkawi, Jakarta, Bangkok and Phuket.
