MALAYSIA Airlines’ search for Liverpool FC fans around the world to join its “MH Global Team 2017” ended recently when 18 out of over 500 submissions were selected.
From China to Japan to Australia, the lucky but talented players are currently living their dream training with LFC legends Robbie Fowler and Gary McAllister in Anfield.
Divided into Team Fowler and Team McAllister, they will battle it out just like the pros during a match on Saturday at the Anfield pitch.
Their journey to Anfield began with each individual submitting a video showing off their football skills and why they are LFC’s biggest fan.
The shortlisted 18 then congregated in Kuala Lumpur for two days for intensive trainings and drills to build rapport and teamwork.
Internally, the airline also ran contests for their own employees to vie for four spots into the team and for a chance to be selected as team managers for the MH Global Team.
After two days in Malaysia, the MH Global Team 2017 headed to the UK for more trainings, this time with Fowler and McAllister at LFC’s home turf.
The much-anticipated match kicked off on Saturday, 12th May 2017 at 2:30pm (UTC +0).
Since becoming the official global airline partner of LFC in October 2016, Malaysia Airlines has enabled ways to deliver amazing moments to football fans worldwide while creating stories that build on the brand’s awareness to create extraordinary opportunities.
