More oil palm trees need to be planted to meet demand

The demand for vegetable oil has increased four to six percent each year.

According to the Director of Scientific Technique of Palmelit, Dr Tristan Durrand Gaselin, in order to fulfil this demand more oil palm trees need to be planted.

In addition to this, this initiative needs to be supported by research and development (R&D) of oil palms especially in the field of cloning.
