Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak hopes that more Malaysian companies will be given the opportunities to compete for infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia.
"The relationship between Malaysia and Saudi Arabia are now at the highest level and I believe bilateral cooperation can be further strengthened.
"I hope that more Malaysian companies will be given opportunities to compete and be given key infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia like Prasarana Malaysia Bhd in the Al Mashaaer Al Mugaddassah Metro Southern Line project," he said in his Facebook today.
Najib made a visit to Saudi Arabia from March 1-3, 2016.
While in Riyadh, Najib, who is also Finance Minister, said Malaysia was focusing on efforts to become an operator of the new Jeddah international airport.
Last Thursday, Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd said it was keen to manage five more airports overseas, including the King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Its managing director, Datuk Badlisham Ghazali, said the airport operator would submit proposals to manage two airports by year-end.
"One will be submitted for the Jeddah airport," he said.
