Calling in for NEF AWANI Nominations!
The Malaysian Association of Bumiputera ICT Industry and Entrepreneurs (NEF) and Astro AWANI (Astro Channel 501) will once again work together to bring The 3rd NEF-AWANI ICT Awards. For this year, the Awards is supported by New Entrepreneurs Foundation (myNEF).
With the award ceremony scheduled for 13th December 2013, television viewers will not only get to see and hear the opinions from the nominees, they will also be able to see how the nominees impress the judges in a Pitching Session. The Award ceremony will be telecast LIVE at Astro AWANI (Astro Channel 501).
"The 3rd NEF-Awani ICT Awards is set to continuously improve from the feedback and suggestions we received from industry players and fellow Technopreneurs. With the introduction of new categories and of new elements to the format the Awards is set to be more holistic and competitive. Among the new categories are the Best e-Commerce Business where it will recognize SOHO and homemakers who utilized online platform to leverage their business. The introduction of ‘Best Women Technopreneur’ is also aspiring to give recognition to women Technopreneurs who are successful in ICT which is men’s domain.
The 3rd NEF-AWANI ICT Awards will have the following awards under the ICT category:
1. Best Software
2. Best ICT Solutions For SMEs
3. Best Animation/Games
4. Best Mobile & New Media Content/Application
5. Best Young Technopreneur / Startup
6. Best E-Commerce Business
7. Best Woman Technopreneur
For the inclusive People’s Choice category where nominees are selected based on the impact they have on people’s lives, this year, the focus is to give recognition to homegrown brand and talent. The Awards under the People’s Choice category are:
1. Favourite e-Services/e-Government
2. Favourite Online Banking
3. Favourite Entertainment Portal/Blog
4. Favourite Local Celebrity@ICT
5. Favourite Telecommunication Company
6. Favourite Local Online Community
The voting process will be done on the NEF-AWANI ICT Awards Facebook page. The selection of the winners of ICT Awards will be based on 10 percent from public votes while the remaining 90 percent will be from the panel of jury. While the winners of People’s Choice category will be 100% from the public votes.
Calling for nominations will be closed on the 27th September 2013. Nominations can be done at www.nef.org.my.
