Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua) has reached another milestone with nearly 6,000 Bezza units in the process of delivery by today, while bookings for the carmaker's first compact sedan have reached 19,000 units.
"As of yesterday, 5,000 Perodua Bezza units have been successfully delivered since it was launched on July 21, and we expect to deliver a total of 1,000 units by end of today," said Perodua President/CEO Datuk Dr Aminar Rashid Salleh in a statement today.
Of the units delivered, 42 percent are for the Perodua Bezza 1.3L Advance variant, 43 percent for the Perodua Bezza 1.3L Premium X and 15 percent for the Perodua Bezza 1.0L variant, said Aminar Rashid.
The "A" segment compact sedan is the first Perodua vehicle with an upper body fully designed by Malaysians.
The design of the Bezza began in 2014 with the support of Perodua’s partner Daihatsu of Japan.
"Perodua invested RM300 million to develop the Bezza and the model has 95 percent local content," it said.
The Perodua Bezza, priced from RM37,300 for the 1.0L standard G (manual transmission) to RM50,800 for the 1.3L Advanced variant (automatic transmission), comes in six different colours -- Sugar Brown, Ocean Blue, Lava Red, Ebony Black, Glittering Silver and Solid Ivory White.
The Perodua Bezza is produced at Perodua Global Manufacturing Sdn Bhd, an energy efficient vehicle-certified facility with an automation rate of over 75 percent.
