Petronas files suit against Perwaja Steel

Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas) has filed a suit against Perwaja Steel Sdn Bhd over a default in payment for the supply of gas to the steelmaker's direct reduction plant and steel mill in Kemaman, Terengganu.

The writ of summons and statement of claim were filed at the Kuala Lumpur High Court (Commercial Division) on Jan 14, according to court documents obtained by Bernama today.

In the statement of claim, Petronas is seeking RM146.139 million as at 31 December 2012, interest amounting to RM10.313 million as at Jan 10 this year plus other interests, costs and relief as deemed fit by the court.
