Ratan Tata to be Chief Advisor of AirAsia India

Tata Group's Chairman Emeritus, Ratan Tata, will be chief advisor to the board of AirAsia India, AirAsia's Group chief, Tan Sri Tony Fernandes said.
"Persuading Tata to be advisor was not easy. A legend in every sense. Building a powerful team.
"It is critical to have someone with massive experience to help shape up AsiaAsia India," he added, via social media today.
Tony also said the name of the AirAsia India chairman would be announced either today or on Monday.
"Our chairman is someone who has redefined many parts of India. A towering man who brings unbelievable experience to the AirAsia India board.
"AirAsia India is shaping up brilliantly. Super chief executive officer. Some great staff. A good board and now a great advisor," he added.
Last month, AirAsia India announced the appointment of Mittu Chandilya as its chief executive officer, to lead the company's expansion in one of the world's most promising aviation markets.
Chandilya, 33, assumed office effective June 1.
India's Tata Group has a 30 per cent stake and Telestra Tradeplace Pvt Ltd owns 21 per cent of AirAsia India (Pvt) Ltd.
