Register or appeal for BR1M 2.0 by next week
The Ministry of Finance is urging all Malaysians, who have yet to register or appeal against rejection for the Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M) 2.0, to do so by the end of next week.
Deputy Finance Minister, Datuk Donald Lim Siang Chai, said the Treasury will suspend its counters for receiving new applications and appeals in the middle of this month, both for the RM500 one-off household aid as well as RM250 individual financial assistance.
"Thus, I want to urge all Malaysians not to miss the genuine aid given by the government and register as fast as possible.
"We are closing it within the stipulated timeframe as the Treasury will have to concentrate on many other important issues," Lim told reporters after launching a book written by students, entitled "Judge Us Not", here today.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak had announced last year a BRIM 2.0 of a one-off RM500 cash to households with incomes not exceeding RM3,000 a month.
BR1M worth RM250 cash was also announced to unmarried individuals with income not exceeding RM2,000 a month.
