Revenue earned via MKMF programme reach RM12 million - Ahmad Shabery
Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek said the revenue earned involved 1,784 entrepreneurs in various fields, including agriculture.
The revenue earned by My Village My Future (MKMF) Programme entrepreneurs from 12 villages nationwide reached RM12 million, from January last year to April this year.
Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek said the revenue earned involved 1,784 entrepreneurs in various fields, including agriculture.
"To date we have implemented the programme in 12 villages in nine states including Sarawak, Sabah, Terangganu, Perak, Pahang and Negeri Sembilan.
"To see the the impact of the programme ,we look at two indicators, namely economic and social. For the economic impact we see how much revenue the village involved has earned, whereas the social impact is measured in terms of how many employment opportunities exist, with youths no longer migrating to cities for work," he told this to reporters after attending an MKMF programme at Kampung Hulu Kundur, here, today.
The programme was opened by Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.
Ahmad Shabery said the programme would be further extended to five states namely Perlis, Penang, Kelantan, Selangor and Melaka, this year.
"The states that have implemented the MKMF programme will become models for other states in order to ensure the effectiveness of the programme in achieving its objectives," he said.
