Royal baby no. 2 inspires relaunch of breast milk ice cream

Pitched as the "ultimate organic ice cream," Royal Baby Gaga, produced by London-based ice creamery The Licktators, is being relaunched to coincide with the most anticipated birth this spring.

The ice cream is made with donated breast milk, which producers say is screened in line with hospital standards, and blended with Madagascan vanilla.

It’s the second time campaigner Victoria Hiley, 30, has used everyone’s favorite frozen treat to promote the health benefits of breast milk and try and destigmatize the act of breastfeeding in public.

In 2011, Hiley and ice cream wizard Matt O’Connor courted controversy with the Royal Baby Gaga’s debut, not only from members of the public who filed complaints to local council, but also from Lady Gaga herself, who took offense at the name.

Royal watchers can choose from pink or blue tubs that will be sold at select London stores and online this summer.

A 500 ml tub retails for £19.99 and profits will be donated to a breastfeeding charity.
