Sapura Energy Bhd (Sapura Energy) mengekalkan keuntungannya untuk suku kedua berturut-turut, mencatat keuntungan bersih sebanyak RM23.74 juta bagi tempoh tiga bulan yang berakhir pada 31 Julai, 2020.
Ia adalah susulan daripada kerugian bersih RM4.56 bilion direkodkan bagi tahun kewangan berakhir 31 Jan, 2020, disebabkan susut nilai ke atas hartanah, loji dan peralatan, peruntukan sebanyak RM438.8 juta sebagai menjangka kelewatan yang berpanjangan dalam menyiapkan projek semasa berikutan pandemik global COVID-19.
Walaupun syarikat itu kembali pulih pada suku kedua daripada kerugian bersih RM116.31 juta pada tahun sebelumnya, perolehan merosot 36.7 peratus kepada RM1.22 bilion daripada RM1.93 bilion sebelumnya.
Namun, Sapura Energy berkata ia telah menyesuaikan diri dengan kebiasaan baharu dengan memanfaatkan kemampuan dan aset strategik untuk meneroka peluang di pasaran dan segmen sedia ada serta melaksanakan pelan pengoptimuman kos yang komprehensif untuk memastikan operasi berjalan dengan cekap.
Presiden dan Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif kumpulan Tan Sri Shahril Shamsuddin berkata syarikat itu telah mengenal pasti inisiatif pengoptimuman kos bernilai kira-kira RM1.1 bilion yang akan dilaksanakan dalam tempoh 12 bulan.
"Inisiatif bernilai kira-kira RM450 juta telah dilaksanakan sepenuhnya setakat ini, termasuk peningkatan produktiviti operasi dan pengoptimuman perbelanjaan modal, langkah pengurangan gaji syarikat dan mengkaji peluang komersial dengan kontrak-kontrak sedia ada," katanya.
Sementara itu, Sapura Energy berkata nilai kontraknya sekarang berjumlah RM13.3 bilion dengan kontrak baharu terkumpul sebanyak RM1.6 bilion yang diperoleh tahun ini.
"Sebagai sebahagian daripada strategi pertumbuhan mampannya, Sapura Energy telah beralih kepada tenaga yang bersih dan diperbaharui, menggunakan aset sedia ada untuk kepelbagaian serta menjadikannya projek tenaga yang dapat diperbaharui," katanya.
Ia berkata angin luar pesisir berkemungkinan menyumbang kepada peningkatan bahagian pasaran pada pasaran sedia ada dan syarikat itu ketika ini sedang meneroka lima bidaan dan prospek dalam tenaga yang diperbaharui serta meningkatkan fokusnya terhadap gas asli.
Melangkah ke depan, Sapura Energy berkata persekitaran dalam industri minyak dan gas dijangka kekal mencabar pada jangka pendek ke sederhana namun ia terus yakin dengan kemampuannya untuk menghadapi keadaan tidak menentu ketika ini.
Ia berkata syarikat itu akan terus menumpukan perhatian terhadap keselamatan dan kecekapan operasi di semua segmen perniagaannya, memenuhi sasaran pengoptimuman kos dan menambahbaik kekukuhan kewangan dan menempatkan syarikat pada kedudukan terbaik bagi meneroka peluang selepas pasaran pulih kelak.
