KUALA LUMPUR: SEDANIA Innovator Berhad (“SEDANIA” or the “Company”), through its subsidiary SEDANIA Technologies Sdn. Bhd., today announced that the Company has signed a contract with Pos Malaysia to reduce energy consumption on a shared saving concept.
The Company will be providing its technology through its Energy Performance Contract (EPC) framework which allows organisations to pursue their ESG objectives and significantly reduce its energy consumptions on a zero-CAPEX basis.
After SEDANIA’s footprint in the banking and telecommunications verticals, this six-year contract represents the Company’s entry into the Supply Chain sector which has seen a substantial growth in the last 18 months due to the increase in online shopping.
Based on the published reports, Pos Malaysia through their Pos Laju SendParcel has shipped more than 6.7 million parcels in total and generated RM45.5 million in revenue in 2020.
SEDANIA’s CEO, Daniel Ruppert said, “This latest venture marks an important milestone for SEDANIA as we expand our GreenTech solutions into the logistics and supply chain industry, an industry with thousands of decentralised processing centres and branches all over Malaysia.”
The first deployment will include energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions at eight selected Pos’ sites in Klang Valley and is scheduled to start this year and complete within three months.
Ruppert continued, “I applaud Pos Malaysia for showing determination on energy sustainability despite such currently challenging times. We are looking forward to helping Pos Malaysia reduce its operating cost and achieve its energy sustainability goals.
"As our model is non-disruptive to operations or finance, we encourage other organisations to replicate similar initiatives and execute its green agenda today rather than tomorrow."
Malaysia’s comprehensive 10-year plan for Environmental Sustainability includes setting clear goals and targets in achieving environmental sustainability by 2030.
SEDANIA’s GreenTech business is playing a key role in enabling organisations to achieve these targets.
According to SEDANIA, its GreenTech business has served top players in their respective industries, from telco to financial institutions with a total energy reduction to date of over 65 Gigawatt-Hours kWh in over 350 buildings, which is equivalent to 45,000 tons of carbon dioxide.
SEDANIA recently announced their financial results for the second quarter ended 30 June 2021.
Group revenue surged almost 10-fold to RM10.84 million compared to RM1.11 million in the same period in 2020 and profit after tax jumped to RM8.11 million for the first half of 2021.
