Sunway Construction bags RM52.51 mln MRT contract
The contract is for the advance works construction of viaduct guideway and other associated works, expected to be completed by next September.
Sunway Construction Group Bhd's subsidiary, Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd, has secured a RM52.51 million contract from MMC Gamuda KVMRT (PDP SSP) Sdn Bhd for works related to the mass rapid transit (MRT) line 2 project.
In a filing to Bursa Malaysia today, Sunway Construction said the contract is for the advance works construction of viaduct guideway and other associated works, which is expected to be completed by September next year.
The group said it also received letters of intent from Sunway Iskandar Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Sunway Bhd, for projects in Medini Iskandar, Johor worth RM156.5 million.
"The projects consist of the construction of 88 shop lot units, a mosque, a management office, one block of garbage storage, two Tenaga Nasional Bhd substations and relevant facilities with a completion period of over 20 months.
"Both contracts are expected to contribute positively to the earnings of the group from this financial year onwards," it said. -- Bernama
