Tekun loan facility extended to fishermen, says Ismail Sabri
The Tekun Nasional loan facility has been extended to fishermen, according to Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
He said the move would definitely help the fishermen to venture into other economic activities to earn side income, so that they don't have to depend solely on the income from their fishing activity.
"Fishermen need not to have guarantors or security deposit to apply for Tekun loan," he told reporters after presenting the letters of appointment to chairmen of Agriculture Development Council in parliamentary constituencies in Selangor here Monday night.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak when announcing new measures and strategies to empower the Bumiputera economy on Saturday, also announced an additional allocation of RM700 million to Tekun Nasional.
