TEN TEN Telecommunications Sdn Bhd, the sole distributor of Alcatel mobile and Internet products in Malaysia, aims to sell 20,000 units of Alcatel smartphones per month.

Its executive director, Alan Bong, said the company was expected to help position Alcatel as the next key player in the smartphone and tablet market here.

"We hope the sales of Alcatel's smartphones will contribute about 20 per cent of our total revenue for this year," he told reporters after a sneak preview of Alcatel's mobile phones and tablets here today.

He said the company aimed to rake in about RM30 million in revenue for this year and the Alcatel partnership would make it easier to achieve the target.

"In future, we hope to team up with other telecommunication companies as well in Malaysia," he said.

Bong said Alcatel will also introduce new products -- Alcatel ONE TOUCH 993D INSIGHT (RM599), ONE TOUCH 997D EXPLORE (RM799) and ONE TOUCH T10 TAB (RM499).

"These products will be launched globally this year," he said.
