TH closely monitors private package services

Tabung Haji (TH) is closely monitoring the operations of agencies managing private haj packages to ensure that they provide the services as had been promised.

TH Pilgrims Management Operations Director, Mat Admara Alang Azizdin said TH would not compromise with agencies that did not fulfill the pledges made in the brochure as advertised or failed to meet the conditions specified by TH.

"Out of the total of 22,230 pilgrims for this season, 2,215 had opted for the private package, including 976 pilgrims going on the TH Travel & Services package. The minimum package offered is RM20,000 while the highest package is RM189,000 for each pilgrim," he told reporters here.

He said there were 15 travel agencies including Tabung Haji subsidiary, TH Travel & Services, which were licensed to handle the private haj packages for this year.

Mat Admara said that among the conditions imposed by TH on the agencies concerned was that they must have experienced staff in haj management and had strong financial position.
