Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) has decided to provide enhanced employment benefits to its non-executives in Sarawak, including a new retirement age of 60, to further strengthen its relationship with the employees' unions.
TM recently concluded the 9th Collective Agreements with the Union of Telecoms Employees Sarawak (UTES) that cover enhancement of various terms and conditions of service for its non-executives in Sarawak.
In a statement today, Group Chief Executive Officer Tan Sri Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa said both parties have agreed on three key terms to drive even better performance.
Under the first term, employees nationwide would also benefit from the new retirement age of 60 effective July 1, 2013, he said.
There would be also an annual salary adjustment for three years (20132015) at a rate of 5.5 per cent for the first year, and backdated from January 2013, he said.
Adjustment rates for the following years will be determined later, based on the companys performance.
"As for the third term -- enhancements to Disciplinary Articles - more specific emphasis is given with regard to disciplinary actions," Zamzamzairani added.
Besides the key amendments, the non-executives will also receive a marked increase in their allowances including Cost of Living Allowance and for housing, lodging and shift.
