TNB Code of Practice protects customers' personal data

Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) has prepared a Code of Practice which aims to ensure protection of its customers' personal data.
In a statement on Sunday, TNB said as Malaysia's largest and leading utility company, TNB and its subsidiaries, Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) and Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB), had prepared the Code of Practice in just a year.
"TNB is committed to protect all personal data and privacy of individuals who have a contractual ties with the company.
"It is the policy of TNB to process the personal data through a lawful channel and it is in line with the launch of the Code of Practice," the statement said.
The Code of Practice was approved by the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Commissioner in accordance with Section 23 of the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).
The code, which comes in the form of a 58-page book, is available in both Malay and English, with the online version also available at www.pdp.gov.my.
