U Mobile, digital publishers launch ebook & e-magazine purchasing service

U Mobile Sdn Bhd has partnered with four regional and local digital publishers for the first-of-its kind service in Malaysia, booKu, which enables its subscribers to buy ebooks and e-magazines from noted publishers.
The collaboration with SPH Magazines, Pubu eBook, FullAMark and NovelPlus, would also enable U Mobile subscribers to buy without credit card, it said in a statement today.
It said subscribers would have their purchases deducted from their mobile credit, while postpaid subscribers would be charged through their monthly bills.
