USD160 billion is targeted by end of 2017

China-Malaysia trade targeted to reach a bilateral trade amounting to USD160 billion by the end of 2017 which marks the end of the five year economic and trade cooperation between Malaysia and China.
The programme aims to enhance economic an trade cooperation between the two countries mainly in the areas of agriculture, manufacturing industry, industrial parks, infrastructure and energy and mineral resources.
The programme is emphasized on providing business and investment opportunities to the private sector players.
Early harvest projects that have identified for immediate implementation including the Malaysia China Kuantan Industrial Park, Qinzhou Industrial Park, Kuantan Port Expansion Project which are ongoing projects.
New cooperation projects include those in the recyclable use of resources, non wood timbre use , pulp and paper production from palm empty fruit bunches and planting of local forest products based on sustainability.
